Thanks to the folks over at Vogons , it was revealed that there were many other kinds of compatible sound cards and clones that were as good, if not better, than their Creative counterparts. In other words, a stereo sound source will still produce stereo sound , provided that you have selected the correct option in the game’s setup Sound Blaster Pro or Pro 2. It’s so bad it pretty much ruins some games. It is not known if the sequence determines the chronological order that the cards were designed, but it’s a safe assumption for our purposes. Stereo is reversed SCSI: There is no material that is knowingly illegal here. This will be a constantly updated post as new information becomes available.

No tsr is needed to use the midi in dos. There is a 3D setting that can be turned on and off in windows [and maybe dos, haven’t looked into it]. I’ve been wvaerider together a retro-capable computer over the last year.
I’ll compile list and post it here. Ok I just used the m16abo two floppy disk files to install it and it worked well but this card had lots of noise on Gabriel Knight 1 and for some reason the autoexec.

There is a great deal of discussion at Vogons about these particular cards. Though none of these are anywhere near what the aztech card produces [though it’s a bit more than a hiss!

All second, third and fourth generation cards support the Sound Blaster Pro 2. I tried a few but it did not work.
Now I listen more it seems more like the sound is distorted as though being played too loud. There may be a jumper on your board that allows you to select port instead of if you have it set tothen use that number instead.

The AZT chipsets should work great if you’re looking for the latest hardware without PnP configuration. Also this hiss seems to be there in dosbox I now notice. Following that is usually a 3 digit number beginning with 8.
I cant see any logo or name on the PCB but in the pictures below you can see all the chips and layout of the card. This site hosts no abandonware.
